KONE Corporation, press release, October 7, 2013
KONE, one of the world's leading elevator and escalator companies, has won an order for 19 air conditioned elevators and four escalators to be installed at 180 Ann Street, a 34-story top-end office building being built in the central business district of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. The building, which will feature the shape of the Brisbane River on its façade, will combine leading smart technology with maximum environmental credentials.
KONE's smart and eco-efficient solutions, like the KONE Polaris(TM) destination control system complete with touchscreen destination control panels, will ensure smooth commutes for the future residents of the building. All elevator destination control panels will include access control card readers that interface with the elevator control system. The order also includes 15 KONE MiniSpace(TM) elevators traveling at a top speed of 7 meters per second, as well as four KONE MonoSpace® elevators and four KONE TravelMaster(TM) 110 escalators with a rise of up to 11 meters.
Equipment will be managed using the KONE E-Link remote monitoring system, and the 14 gearless passenger elevators in the building will feature an energy-conserving standby mode.
180 Ann Street, which will rise to a height of 144 meters, will house 57,465 square meters of premium office space, and 1,634 square meters of retail space over two podium levels. The main contractor for the project, due to be completed in 2015, is WATPAC. Daisho Co Ltd is the building owner.
The order was booked in the second quarter of 2013.
